Child fatally struck by driver in Shaler Township
Drivers are expected to exercise caution when they are behind the wheel. Drivers who behave negligently or are under the influence of drugs or alcohol can be held liable for any automobile accidents they cause. These accidents may involve other vehicles, pedestrians or mere bystanders. One man recently crashed into a little girl standing on her driveway in Shaler Township.
The 6-year-old girl, along with her mother and sister, was leaving a birthday party when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the girl. As a result, the girl suffered a fractured pelvis and internal injuries to her liver and lungs. She passed away at the hospital shortly after the accident.
The 20-year-old driver admitted to driving irresponsibly at the time of the devastating accident. Police say that he was driving twice the speed limit, 50 to 55 miles per hour in a 25 mph area. The man told police that he had 10 cans of beer before the accident and that he had smoked marijuana earlier that day.
When someone is injured in a car accident, they may be facing endless medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and lost wages. If a family loses a loved one, they may be suffering a monetary and emotional loss. Filing a wrongful death suit against the negligent party may help bring some financial stability to the family after such a tragic event.
When a personal injury lawsuit is filed, you may recover damages to help pay your medical bills, funeral costs, and hospital expenses. If you lose a loved one, you may also benefit from filing a wrongful death suit.
