Two killed in a plane crash in Fayette County
Two men were killed and a third man severely burned when a small plane crashed near Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh.
Friday afternoon just after two pm, it was reported that a Beechcraft BE36 took off from the resort’s private airstrip and crashed about a half mile away. Emergency personnel responding to the scene reported the deaths, and one person was being flown to a hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
The FAA will investigate and the National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the accident because a fatality was involved. The FAA will release the aircraft registration after local authorities notify family members about the condition of those on board.
